Messages is Trivium's inbox. A private message goes to one person; a message to a class, grade or other group goes out as a group message, and families' replies come back privately to you. Staff also have channels — shared rooms for staff only. Messages arrive live, and Enter sends.
- Open Messages and choose the pencil (New message or group message) beside the search box — on a phone, the New message button.
- In To, pick one person for a private message. (Pick a class, grade, list or several people and it becomes a group message — see Sending a group message.)
- Write your message, attach files if you need to, and Send.
- In a one-to-one conversation, your latest message shows Sent, then Seen with the time once they've read it. Hover a message and choose React to add an emoji.
There is one conversation per teacher and family: writing to a parent again continues the same thread, so the history stays in one place. Channels are under the Channels filter — choose Browse all channels to join one, or create a New channel from there.
Families who aren't in the app still get your message by email, and replying to that email lands back in the conversation. Settings → Message emails sets how and when that happens, including quiet hours.
