Anything you send to a group — a class's families, a grade, all parents, all staff, a team or a saved list — goes out as a group message. Each family gets it as its own message, and their replies come back privately, to you only. For news that needs no answer, post an announcement instead (Announcements → + New announcement).
- In Messages, choose the pencil (New message or group message), or Message the class on a class's Stream.
- In To, pick the audience: Everyone (All parents, All staff), a contact list, a grade or cohort, a class, or a team. Once a group is picked you can also include students with their own login (13+) and send to everyone, full-time only, or part-time only.
- Add a Subject and your message, and attach files if needed.
- Set the chips: Ask for Got it (a one-tap acknowledgement) and Also post to Announcements (it shows on the Announcements page, dashboards and classroom screens too). Admins writing to all parents or all staff also get Urgent · text, which sends it as a text message too.
- Choose Send. You have five seconds to change your mind — Don't send stops it; Send now skips the wait.

Your group message is one row under the Groups filter in Messages. Open it to see how many replied, said Got it, or haven't responded, with each family's private reply below. Reply to all answers everyone who replied, each privately; Mark all done clears them. A row shows "N awaiting" while replies are waiting on you.
Replies are always on, and private — no family sees another's reply. Ask for Got it is on by default. Save draft keeps a group message to finish later.
