An announcement is one-way news — no replies. It is emailed and pushed to the audience you pick, and shows on the Announcements page, dashboards and classroom screens. When you want families to answer (a form back, a yes/no, a question), send a group message from Messages instead: their replies come back privately to you.
- On the Announcements page, choose + New announcement. (Started a group message and realised no replies are needed? Choose No replies needed? Post it as an announcement instead — what you wrote comes with you.)
- In the New announcement panel, add a Title, the Message, an optional Photo, and the audience (Whole school, a grade level, or Staff only). For one class, teachers use Message the class on the class's Stream, or a group message. Tick Pin to the top of the feed if you like, then Publish (or Save as draft).
- Change a post later from its ⋯ — Unpublish, Pin to top / Unpin, or Delete.
The Announcements board — pinned and recent posts, some with cover photos.
Family email settings
- Settings → Parent emails — the sender name, reply-to address and email signature families see.
- Settings → Message emails — whether messages also go out by email to people who can log in, quiet hours, and what a locked phone shows.
- Communications → Parent digest — the daily and weekly summary emails (see Parent email digests).
Parents also see a Your summary emails tab on the Announcements page — their daily and weekly digests, kept in one place.
