Attendance for the office

Which rolls are in, parent reports to acknowledge, and recording absences ahead of time.

Admins

Attendance (in the sidebar) is the office's view of the day: parent reports at the top, then every cohort's roll — Waiting first, then Done — with present, late, absent and excused counts.

  1. Open Attendance. Step between days with the arrows, or Today.
  2. Under Reported by parents, choose Acknowledge — it goes on the roll and the family is told it was received. Use Add a note to send a line back (e.g. “Hope she feels better!”).
  3. Choose + Record absence to log a call or email — today or days ahead, absent, late or leaving early.
  4. Use Take, Edit or View on any cohort's row to open its roll.
The office Attendance page — parent reports, then each cohort's roll status.

Who takes each roll

Settings → Attendance sets how often attendance is taken (Once a day or Every class), who takes it (the cohort teacher, or the first teacher of the day), any exceptions, and whether families get a same-day alert. Check it: who takes attendance previews each weekday.

A student arriving late? + Late arrival (on Attendance or Today) — tap the name and they're marked late at the current time, with Undo. ⋯ → Attendance reports gives rates, lates, early departures and chronic absence, with Print and CSV.
