Assigning textbooks & billing replacements

Know who holds each copy and bill for losses.

Admins

Assign copies to the students who hold them — individually or to a whole class roster at once. If a copy is lost or damaged, the responsible family is already known, and you can charge the replacement cost to their invoice.

  1. Open the book in Curriculum and set its replacement cost.
  2. Under Assign copies & accountability, pick a student per copy, or use “Hand out to a class” to give a roster one each. (Consumables such as workbooks use “Distribute to a class” instead.)
  3. If a copy is lost or damaged, mark its condition; the holder is recorded as responsible.
  4. Use “Charge $X” on that copy to bill the replacement to the family's invoice.
